“I first met Andrea last year, under what could best be described as the most horrendous of circumstances. To cut a very long and nightmarish story short, my accountant of more than three years had failed to lodge a single BAS for my three companies. He called me in to his office one morning in a complete panic to tell me that the ATO were planning to audit my companies and me personally, because I had not lodged a BAS for three years. He also blamed me for the situation and offered no solutions with regard to how I might deal with the matter. It was the most terrible situation to be in. I frantically rang around to find someone who could help me, but it wasn’t until I was given Andrea’s number that I found any support. Other accountants I had spoken to told me that not only were they too busy, but that they would need at least three months to complete the work. I was completely stressed out and it impacted on every aspect of my life. I lost 10kgs because I was too stressed to even eat. I felt completely overwhelmed by my situation, and absolutely alone. I couldn’t believe that after paying expensive accounting fees for so long, and trusting my accountant to do what needed to be done, I was in this position. And the ATO were very brutal.
